CHENNAI: TNCC President KS Al-Ajiri stated that the UPA authorities introducing the amendment into the ST Act paved the way for the incorporation of the Narikuravar group into the ST registry and the BJP did not announce the achievement. In a press confirmation, Alagiri mentioned the amendment to incorporate the Narikuravar and Kurivikarar communities under the ST Register (Structure (Scheduled Tribes) Act (Amendment) Act 2013) introduced by the UPA authorities in 2013.

He also accused that the amendment had been delayed by the BJP-led Union authorities for eight years. Among them is Narikuravar group under ST record after protests by many political events and social organisations. He added that the BJP had no right to assert that this was their achievement, and also expressed his appreciation to MK Stalin for launching a breakfast scheme in 1,545 primary colleges affiliated with the authorities.

Meanwhile, the BJP stated that the amendment was undoubtedly their achievement. She added that DMK is making an attempt to reform its brand on various achievements (BJP's). In a press confirmation, BJS Chief Ok Annamalai stated that DMK came to power in 1967 and was a partner in the Congress-led conference. But for the 10-year period from 2004 to 2014, the union authorities did not meet Narikuravar's request because it did not have a giant financial institution to vote, and he claimed the record was achieved following the efforts of the government's Bharatiya Janata Party unit.
