From Ramez Raja to Suresh Raina: The cricket fraternity mourns Asad Raouf's sudden rule

Former Worldwide Referee Asad Raouf handed him over due to a coronary heart attack in Lahore on Thursday. Raouf, who was 66 years ago, made his first appearance as a referee in world cricket in 2000 and managed in 64 Tests (49 as a field referee and 15 as a TV referee), 139 ODIs and 28 T20I.

It is worth mentioning that Raouf made 71 first-class matches at Al Watan Circuit in Pakistan before becoming one of the many major referees in world cricket. His career, however, got here surprisingly when he was named as one of several accused by the Mumbai police in the 2013 IPL scandal. Subsequently, Rauf was dropped from the elite team of the ICC and even banned by the International Chamber of Commerce for 5 years after that. Players – past and present – have used social media to identify their disappointment and sympathy. He wrote a warm notice on social media and offered his condolences to the Raouf family.

“Sad to hear about the death of Asad Raouf. Not only was his judgment good, but he also had a rotten sense of humour. He has put a smile on my face at all times and can move forward with action at any time when I have him in mind. Much sympathy to his family for his or her loss,” Raja tweeted
