For Metro Rail passengers, entry to the Guindy station will be simple as the Heavenly Pass may be ready in a month.
In line with the officers of Chennai Metro Rail Limited, a pedestrian bridge, which is under development, will join Race Course Road, Suburban Railway Station and Jindi MRT Station.
A Southern Railway official has stated that the work, which has been carried out at a value of Rs 7.68 crore, may be completed by the end of October. The meeting stage will be connected to the metro station and suburban railway station. Officers stated that passengers approaching the station from Race Course Street have quick access to the trains.
CMRL officers stated that each suburban station and metro railway station are closed to each other and it will take less than a minute for passengers to get from one station to another.
“In the past few months, the number of passengers traveling through this station has increased to 10,000, along with many office-goers. After Chennai Central and Thirumangalam metro stations, Guindy has the best sights. This facility will enhance patronage and will attract More people to use the metro train,” one official stated.
Recently, minibuses have been launched from Guindy metro station to nearby areas to provide last mile connection.
