Searches were conducted, among various locations, at Delhi, Gurugram, Patna, Madhubani, and Katihar.

The operation is being carried out on a day when Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister of Bihar who split from the BJP in alliance with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), was available for a vote on the Trust in the state meeting.

Rabri Devi, a former Prime Minister, and Tegashwi's mother alleged that the CBI investigation was a “witch hunt” because the central authorities were wary of the Mahagathpandan administration.
